What is Community Health Nursing?
It is known as the nursing practice in the community, with the primary focus on the health care of individuals, families, and groups in a community. The goal of community health nursing is to protect, preserve, promote or maintain health.

Community health nursing is a field of nursing which combines nursing practice with public health science to formulate a community-oriented and population-focused practice. It synthesizes the knowledge from the public health sciences and professional nursing theories to improve the health of communities and vulnerable population.

What is Community Based Nursing?
The term used to describe the setting of nursing care delivery. The focus of this care was to reduce suffering and promote healing at home level by the female. The next stage in the development of community health was the formal organization of district nursing. Later, many changes in health care organization and financing, technology, and social issues made increasing demands on community health nurses to adapt to new patterns of practice.

It is known as the provision of acute care and care of chronic health problems to the families and individuals in the community. Illness prevention and health promotion are the focus of aspects of community-based nursing.

It offers unique challenges and opportunities for expanding nursing’s focus from the individual & family to encompass communities and the opportunity to impact the health status of populations. Community health nursing combines public health sciences and nursing theories to improve and sustain the health of populations in the communities. This department of nursing provides an overview of community health nursing history, poverty, sustainability and the health care needs of developing countries.
